How to Live Safer in Your Own Home

I have spent a lot of time speaking with lots of homeowners about the security in their home. I am working to acquire some insight on the different ways that our homes can become at risk. I asked each person I spoke with if they had ever witnessed suspicious activity at their home. It could have been burglary, a broken window, a suspicious individual – anything. Almost every single person had at least one story. Many of their experiences eventually led them to install a burglar alarm. I have been told that Security in Lake Forest is one of the best options.

One man said that he was home for the afternoon one day, but then left to go pick his little boy up from soccer practice. When they got back roughly twenty minutes later, one of his windows was broken and some things were missing from inside. He thought he had been watched, and that the robber knew when he left. A different mother of 3 informed me that she once answered the door to a man who said they were a salesperson. After the man pitched his sale, he then asked if he could talk it over with her inside. She declined, and he again replied by asking if he could at least come inside to use her telephone. Since the man was being so persistent, she again declined and closed the door.

All of us have had our encounters with shady people and situations. Some are worse than others, like that of the first man. The information I am trying to figure out will help me determine what encourages people to buy a security system. The woman said she quickly decided to get one the next day.

I have learned about a lot of identical stories from other families. You never truly know what might happen on a specific day. I am positive these people did not wake up that morning assuming something abnormal would happen later that day. It really stresses the importance of being proactive.
